I miss...
So I blog stalk. I like it because the blogs I stalk are all of people who live in DC, NYC, big cities. I live vicariously through them. Some of the blogs are single girls, some are married. But I was just recently blog stalking one of my regular girls {single, NYC} who was talking about eyelash extensions and how she's taking a break but now using this lengthening product {it's called li lash...like latisse I guess?} that she swears by, and since she doesn't have an "expendable income" anymore she's using it instead of the extensions.
So, curiously, I looked at the product description, and it was $140! Its the size of a mascara bottle and my initial reaction was, holy expensive!! But then i thought, wait, back when I was single, i would have bought it in a heartbeat. I could apply my money to whatever I felt like. I mean, yes I still had to budget but it wasn't the same.
So I started wondering. Why the heck is it different being married from being single?? I mean, we both work, so we both bring in incomes...but I swear money always just disappears by the end of the month and I can assure you I'm not buying myself anything for $140.
So I too miss my "expendable income", where I could buy whatever I wanted and not think "okay what part of the budget is this going to come out of". But I just dont get it why money disappears so much faster when married. I can't even imagine how much faster it will disappear when there are kids!
Anyone feel this way or am I alone here?
