I miss...

{I will create this tree someday}

So I blog stalk. I like it because the blogs I stalk are all of people who live in DC, NYC, big cities. I live vicariously through them. Some of the blogs are single girls, some are married. But I was just recently blog stalking one of my regular girls {single, NYC} who was talking about eyelash extensions and how she's taking a break but now using this lengthening product {it's called li lash...like latisse I guess?} that she swears by, and since she doesn't have an "expendable income" anymore she's using it instead of the extensions.

So, curiously, I looked at the product description, and it was $140! Its the size of a mascara bottle and my initial reaction was, holy expensive!! But then i thought, wait, back when I was single, i would have bought it in a heartbeat. I could apply my money to whatever I felt like. I mean, yes I still had to budget but it wasn't the same.

So I started wondering. Why the heck is it different being married from being single?? I mean, we both work, so we both bring in incomes...but I swear money always just disappears by the end of the month and I can assure you I'm not buying myself anything for $140.

So I too miss my "expendable income", where I could buy whatever I wanted and not think "okay what part of the budget is this going to come out of". But I just dont get it why money disappears so much faster when married. I can't even imagine how much faster it will disappear when there are kids!

Anyone feel this way or am I alone here?

Oh Saturday

Yesterday was one of those "we have no idea what to do" days. Chris didn't have homework, I didn't have work, and it was bitterly cold outside accompanied by lovely tornado wind. (exaggerating a bit but not by much). So we started by sleeping in (oh the joy), then played some card games, then watched the second half of the movie we started watching the night before (les miserables), and then we were idea-less.

So we went to detail our car (Chris and his friend Mike started this car detailing company that has its perks when our car looks like it did), and then went to the grocery store.

Here is where the picture comes in. I've spent my fair share of time at the grocery store before, but nothin like this. We dawdled, Chris had me pose with a worker, we got necessities like classic potato chips and cereal, we hung out in the fruit section and wondered about a new fruit we had never seen before (a pumella?)....the clerk actually cut one open for us to taste! So we got one of those...it's like a huge Asian grapefruit but much sweeter. I think Chris just wanted a ball to play with though, it got tossed around quite a bit.

Oh and I was makeup-less and in work out pants (didn't actually work out though).

Fun random day. Sometimes those are my favorite days

Oh la Las Vegas!

Had SUCH an amazing weekend with the girls!!! Check out the bunks we stayed in!! Saturday we first went shopping...
I found Chris and my fav taco place....and of course my favorite store in the whole wide world (i look awful but tiffany's never can)
Went crazy in Sophora and got eye cream stuff and it already is showing amazing results! (curse you getting old!!!)
We went to get yummy chocolate at the best chocolate place ever!! Mr. Brenner you make some good chocolate!
Then we went home and got all dressed up and went back out for dinner...
We first went to dinner at a highly recommended restaurant in the Hard Rock Hotel...called Pink Taco...hahaha no I am not going to explain that one but it was seriously good food!! If you're ever there I highly recommend it! But I don't recommend their guacamole...I can make it better than that so if you want to pay $9 for guac, just call me and I'd be happy to make it for you!
We went to see the Viva Elvis cirque show...funny story, we thought it started at 10 and showed up at like 9:35 all proud of ourselves for getting there early, so we took pictures, took our time...then the usher asked if we were ready to go in. We walked in to a packed theater and a (what we thought was a) "pre-show". Turns out the show started at 9:30 so we were only like 10 minutes late and we got to see the awesome parts and just missed the intro. Anyway...after the show we walked around for a while...

After not deciding what to do we came together and came up with a plan....hence the group thumbs up
So we went to the Bellagio's garden, then to Margaritaville, danced some, got some virgin piƱa coladas...just had some fun

Finally at 3am, my photographer friend, Shelli Dame (shellidamephotography.com) took some pictures of us at the sign....
It was a ton of fun and I miss the girls already!!!
